Coral Springs, Florida was originally founded in 1963, and its population of about 133,000 people have many exciting opportunities to be active. However, pain from various conditions may be limiting your ability to enjoy all the activities Coral Springs has to offer. Fortunately, Florida Spine and Joint has a clinic in Coral Springs, and we may be able to help you reduce your pain and begin enjoying your activities again.

Coral Springs is a city that loves sports

One of the most interesting things about the community of Coral Springs is the love of sports its people have. For instance, the city is home to the training facility of the NHL’s Florida Panthers hockey team, which is called the Florida Panthers IceDen. In addition, several members of the 2008 Olympic team call Coral Springs home, including beach volleyball superstar Misty May-Treanor.

The city also boasts a popular youth soccer program that serves more than 3,000 child athletes. There is also a successful Little League baseball program in Coral Springs. In fact, the North Springs Little League team won the U.S. Southeast Regional Senior League Championship in 2018, and the team also took part in the Little League Senior Division World Series. Unfortunately, they narrowly lost the championship game to Panama, 5-4.

Coral Springs cares about south Florida’s wildlife

Besides a passion for sports, Coral Springs residents are also passionate about the local wildlife of south Florida. One display of this passion is the Sawgrass Nature Center. Separated from the Everglades Wildlife Management Area by the Sawgrass Expressway, the nature center is home to a wildlife education complex and hospital with a dedicated volunteer staff.

The five-acre complex opened in 1995, and people bring in about 700 animals per year to the center’s wildlife hospital. Also, the volunteers work to educate the people of south Florida about the local wildlife. For instance, the staff offers on-site and off-site educational seminars for more than 7,000 area students annually.
